Effect of randomly fluctuating environment on autotroph-herbivore model system

چکیده
First we deal with a brief introduction of the autotroph-herbivore model system along with deterministic analysis of local stability, bifurcation behavior, and persistence of the populations. The second part consists of the stochastic formulation of the model system to incorporate the effect of environmental fluctuation and then analysis of nonequilibrium fluctuation. Stochastic stability criteria of the model system under the influence of random environmental fluctuation are obtained through the convergence conditions of second-order moments.

On a three-tier ecological food chain model with deterministic and random harvesting: A mathematical study
Abstract. In the present study, we consider a nutrient-autotroph-herbivore ecosystem model where the herbivore species is assumed to have a commercial value. We use a Holling type-II harvest function to model density dependent herbivore harvesting. Stability criteria of the resulting model is investigated both from analytical and numerical viewpoints. The investigation revealed the existence of...

متن کاملComparing the Ecological Stoichiometry in Green and Brown Food Webs – A Review and Meta-analysis of Freshwater Food Webs
The framework of ecological stoichiometry was developed primarily within the context of "green" autotroph-based food webs. While stoichiometric principles also apply in "brown" detritus-based systems, these systems have been historically understudied and differ from green ones in several important aspects including carbon (C) quality and the nutrient [nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P)] contents o...
متن کاملNitrogen limitation and life history adaptation in the grasshopper Omocestus viridulus
The effect of low host plant nitrogen (N) content on herbivore performance has rarely been studied together with the herbivore’s feeding behaviour. We explored this relationship with juvenile Omocestus viridulus (Orthoptera: Acrididae) grasshoppers using fertilized and unfertilized host grasses. Due to lower growth rates, grasshoppers reared on N-poor grasses exhibited slightly prolonged develo...
